Position
CARTONAL bundles and channels communication between the partners in the supply chain and is the hub that brings the interests of customers and suppliers together.
In addition to the classic tasks of an agency, CARTONAL develops tailor-made solutions which, in addition to specific finishing, can also include warehousing, delivery on call and financing.
History
- Founded in 1973 as a trading agency and subsidiary of the Holzstoff Group (later HOLVIS), which at that time was an important player in the industry with own paper mills, nonwovens factories and the largest Swiss paper wholesaler.
- At the end of the 1970s, CARTONAL Italy, France and Benelux were founded. CARTONAL Italy remains a successful company on the market to this day.
- In the 1980s, manufacturers and processors began to concentrate on large corporations.
- 1995 HOLVIS and its subsidiaries are taken over by ArjoWiggins.
- 1996 Management buyout by the managing board at that time. This makes CARTONAL group-independent.
- 2004 Acquisition of Fehr Papier AG and realignment of the Print & Office division.
- 2006: Handover of the management team from Erhard Holle to Kai Holle after more than 30 successful years, the proven sales team remains in place.
- Early 2019: reorganisation of the Print & Office division inline with changed market conditions

Terms of Sale
- The sale is subject to the General Trade Rules for sales of paper and paperboard.
- The prices include bull market and bear market clauses.
- The goods delivered by us remain our property until full payment including any costs and interest.
- The buyer must insure the goods to which the property is reserved against loss and damage, and must also immediately inform the seller of any measures taken by third parties which conflict with the retention of title, e.g. seizure of the goods.
- The goods are dispatched for the account and at the risk of the recipient or the orderer.
- Legal venue is Baden, Switzerland
